KILGORE COLLEGE DUAL CREDIT SCHOLARSHIPS- KC is accepting applications from dual credit students for new scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year.


To apply for scholarships, students must complete a General Scholarship application, available at www.kilgore.edu/scholarships.

College Peas Student Standout College Scholarship is for the student who has something special that makes them different from their peers. United States Senate Youth Program: Entering high school juniors and seniors may obtain a USSYP application through their high school principals, guidance counselors and social studies teachers OR they may inquire directly to their state selection contacts using this website (see selection contacts listing on home page). All student delegates to the United States Senate Youth Program are selected by state-level education officials – the United States Senate and The Hearst Foundations do not provide individual states’ applications or choose the delegates and alternates. USSYP Selection Process :Qualified junior or senior high school students must show demonstrated leadership through public service in elected or appointed positions where they are actively representing a constituency in organizations that relate to government, public affairs, history and / or community service. High school Heisman - Winning a Heisman High School Scholarship requires a weighted GPA of 3.0 or better, participation in at least one sport, and demonstrated leadership at school and in the community. 


Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay.  Each year, nearly 25,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $2 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program. 

The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship This is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

TASSP Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program- The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) http://www.hhloans.com/index.cfm?ObjectID=8FB593C7-EE1E-7872-00A8808886543AEE  This scholarship is offered to encourage students to become commissioned officers in any branch of the armed forces of the United States. To be considered, students must meet at least two of the following academic criteria: • Is on track to graduate or graduated high school with the Distinguished Level of Achievement Plan or the International Baccalaureate Program • A high school GPA of 3.0 or higher • Achieved a college readiness score on the SAT (1590) or ACT (23) • Ranked in the top one-third of the prospective high school graduating class. 2024 Profile in Courage Essay Contest: Write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less that describes and analyzes an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. Include an analysis of the obstacles, risks, and consequences associated with the act. The essay may concern an issue at the local, state, national, or international level. Eastman Chemical Company in Longview is offering multiple technical scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Deadlines to apply are 1/31 for the general technical scholarship and 2/11 for the additional technical scholarships. Students can apply for more than one.


Scholarship Details:

The scholarship will pay $1,000 USD per semester (for 2 semesters) towards tuition and customary fees. Students must be a graduate of an area accredited high school and enroll in an Eastman Partner Technical College in one of the following validated programs: Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Instrumentation or Welding. Stephen F. Austin State University Smith-Hutson Scholarship- The Smith-Hutson Scholarship awards up to $17,500 a year for four consecutive years to incoming freshmen who can demonstrate financial need and academic potential. All applications will be reviewed, and approximately 50 students will be interviewed. Interviews will be held at SFA in Nacogdoches in April 2022. Texas Builders Foundation: The Texas Builders Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the 2023 fall semester. Applicants must enroll for the fall semester in a Texas school and pursue: a residential construction related trade certification or residential construction degree. HEB - As part of its Corporate Sponsorship of the UIL, HEB will recognize 15 high school seniors who participated in UIL competitions for their community service. Five students who competed in athletics, music or academic events will be selected from the pool of applicants. Each student selected will receive a scholarship to assist in pursuing post HS education. Scholarship Requirements: You must be a current high school senior graduating in 2024 with a minimum 3.3 GPA and have participated in a UIL activity while a secondary student. Applicants must complete the online application form and submit all support documents at the same time. Area Go Texan/Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo:  The HLSR awards 1 student in Gregg County with a $20,000 dollar scholarship.  The kids do not have to be in AG or FFA to apply for scholarship.  They simply must be going to a college in Texas and be a graduating senior from a high school in Gregg County, score at least a 950 on SAT or 19 on ACT, and be ranked in the top 1/3 of their class.  THE DEADLINE FOR THE HOUSTON SCHOLARSHIP IS FEBRUARY 7, 2024 @ 7:59 pm



Women In Longview Scholarship:  The Women in Longview, Inc. Scholarship Committee is pleased to offer $1,000 college scholarships to high school senior girls from the graduating class of 2024 who attend a school district that includes Gregg County.  Applications are posted on the senior scholarship board in the College and Career Center.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Application: HSF empowers families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional students as possible. U.S. Presidential Scholars Program - The United States Presidential Scholars Program honors graduating seniors for their outstanding scholarship, achievement and promise of future success. Seniors chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars are selected by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. where they will be presented with a medallion at a ceremony in their honor. While there, the students will engage with accomplished people and participate in conversations and events over issues that concern America and the world. Mayor Mack Scholarship: The City of Longview is accepting applications for Mayor Andy Mack’s scholarship. $5,000 in total scholarships will be given to graduating seniors from Longview, Pine Tree, Hallsville, and Spring Hill Schools who are residents of Longview. The completed application and one-page essay may be submitted online, mailed, or delivered to City Hall.
