KILGORE COLLEGE DUAL CREDIT SCHOLARSHIPS- KC is accepting applications from dual credit students for new scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year.

High school Heisman - Winning a Heisman High School Scholarship requires a weighted GPA of 3.0 or better, participation in at least one sport, and demonstrated leadership at school and in the community. 

 

Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay.  Each year, nearly 25,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $2 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program. 

The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Stephen F. Austin State University Smith-Hutson Scholarship- The Smith-Hutson Scholarship awards up to $17,500 a year for four consecutive years to incoming freshmen who can demonstrate financial need and academic potential. Scholarship Requirements: You must be a current high school senior graduating in 2024 with a minimum 3.3 GPA and have participated in a UIL activity while a secondary student. U.S. Presidential Scholars Program - The United States Presidential Scholars Program honors graduating seniors for their outstanding scholarship, achievement and promise of future success. Seniors chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars are selected by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. where they will be presented with a medallion at a ceremony in their honor. While there, the students will engage with accomplished people and participate in conversations and events over issues that concern America and the world. TEA invites seniors in the class of 2022 to apply for the opportunity to be a U.S. Presidential Scholar. The Texas Commissioner of Education will nominate ten male and ten female candidates to apply for the honor. Mayor Mack Scholarship: The City of Longview is accepting applications for Mayor Andy Mack’s scholarship. $5,000 in total scholarships will be given to graduating seniors from Longview, Pine Tree, Hallsville, and Spring Hill Schools who are residents of Longview. The completed application and one-page essay may be submitted online, mailed, or delivered to City Hall. Legacy Ag Credit 2024 Scholarship Program: Legacy Ag Credit is awarding $20,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors planning to attend college in the fall.  Students planning to attend a two or four year college/university are eligible.  Additionally, students do not have to be pursuing a degree in agriculture; however, preference is given to students that wish to further their education in ag.
