Classroom expectations, Assignments and Grades
¡Bienvenidos a Spanish I, Spanish II, and Language and Culture!
Acquiring a second language is exciting and challenging. Your participation in class will be crucial, memorizing new vocabulary words is a must. We will have daily activities for you to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.
Classroom Expectations:
Be prompt, be prepared, be polite, be productive.
Google Classroom:
Daily assignments are posted daily in Google Classroom.
Notes Packet per lesson:
You will receive one notes packet for every lesson of each chapter. Put it in your binder.
You will receive a test grade from a binder check on every lesson, your grade is either a 0 or a 100. Your binder is expected to be ready to be checked at all times.
4 dividers: 1. Notas, 2. Hojas de Trabajo, Repaso de examenes, etc; 3. Proyectos y 4. Poemas y Canciones.
Quizzes and Unit Tests
There will be two vocabulary quizzes per lesson, quizzes are worth two grades. The dates of quizzes and unit tests are included in your notes packet front page.
There will be a unit test and one binder check at the end of each lesson, these are worth 60%.
Absences:
Daily assignments are posted in google classroom every day. No need to ask the teacher!
Any missing assignment needs to be completed the day after the student comes back to class. A zero will be posted in Skyward until the missing assignment is completed.
Quizzes and Unit Tests need to be completed in class, these can not be taken at home.
Behavior:
You are expected to follow the classroom rules, if not:
1st warning by the teacher in the classroom.
2nd warning-Teacher will ask you to stay in the hall for 5 minutes, the teacher will remind you about classroom rules and expectations.
3rd warning-The teacher will write a green slip and send you to the principal's office, please gather your things. The teacher will write a referral in Skyward, and call your parents.
CURSE WORDS & VULGAR LANGUAGE ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM, THIS WILL SEND YOU DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICE WITHOUT WARNINGS.
Tardies to class:
1st period-Go to the office to get a tardy slip
2nd-8th Period-Tardy will be marked in Skyward
