Maestra Pimentel (903) 323-7764
This will be my 16th year in education, and my sixth year teaching Spanish at Spring Hill ISD. I am delighted to be teaching Spanish I, Spanish II, and Special Topics in Language and Culture.
I am originally from Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Sixteen years ago my family moved to Longview, Texas. We wanted our son Ethan to be fully bilingual. Ethan graduated from Spring Hill in May 2017.
I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and in 2007 I obtained a Master's in Business Administration from Universidad Interamericana del Desarrollo. In 2009 I completed an Alternative Teacher's Certification with the Region 4 Education Service Center. At the moment, I am getting a Certification to become a Christian Marriage Counselor with the Louisiana Baptist University.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a store manager for Xcaret and Xel-ha Parks for 12 years. I was blessed to manage more than 160 employees.
From 2009-2019, I taught Kinder (3 years), 4th grade (5 years), 5th grade (1 year), and 6th grade (1 year) in One/Two Way Dual Language and Bilingual Programs.
I've been a Christian for 46 years and a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church for more than 8 years.
So many people and organizations helped me to continue my education, so I love to volunteer in different community organizations in Longview. I am a mentor for the Aspire Mentor Program, a member of the board, and a mentor and treasurer of the Longview CWJC organization, I volunteer every Saturday at the Treasures Store (Care Drops International), and on Sundays, I volunteer at the NB Spanish Service and my husband and I are LG leaders.
As a first-generation college student, I am very passionate about promoting education among Hispanic families. I volunteer for the Organization-Hacemos. This organization helps Hispanic students go to college. Check my Facebook group page-Hispanics to College, Hacemos East Texas.
At Spring Hill High School, I volunteer for the Sources of Strength Program.
I hold certifications for EC-8 in Bilingual Education-SPANISH and EC-12 in Languages other than English-SPANISH.
Last July 2022, I became a United States Citizen, so I decided to start using my married last name: Pimentel.
