Current Projects
Current Student Council projects include:
- New Student/Staff Breakfast
- SHISD Staff Appreciation Days
- Staff Member Of The Month - each month, the Student Council honors a staff member with a gift card and certificate
- Chocolate Sale Fall Fundraiser
- Holiday Door Decorating Contest - in December, classroom teachers can decorate their doors for the holidays and have a chance to win a gift card
State Project
This year's state project is "Able to See the Need."
Student Council is partnering with the NHS to help at the Animal Shelter in Longview. We volunteer and hope to help at some of their events this year. We also are talking about collecting items to donate to the shelter.
Student Council is also working with the Literacy Council in Longview to help with different projects. Recently, we have helped make over a classroom for their ESL program.
